That I love illustrations is no secret. Naturally, I love working with brands who want to use illustrations to tell their story, or explain their product. So when the folks at Buzz Opinion reached out to me to make some explainer illustrations for their product, I knew we’d have a fun. I’d heard of their product at a conference before, and was intrigued by it. An AI powered shopping assistant that recommends products based on user reviews across the internet – that’s what I’d heard about it, and conversations with the BO team were even more interesting, because I learned that they were launching a voice assistant as well, in addition to a beta version for recommendations of Movies/TV shows and places to visit.

The BO folks explained their tech to me, and tasked me with making illustrations that could explain how BO does what it does, and how it helped their users. Explaining this AI-powered service simply, and without getting caught up in technical terms was the major goal here. So we decided to bring to the fore “Buzzo”, the Buzz Opinion mascot, to add an element of fun to the illustrations. Accordingly, here are some of the draft sketches we came up with –

And then it was time to refine the illustrations –

We all loved how fun and engaging they looked in the bold brand colors of Buzz Opinion, making them a perfect addition to the Buzz Opinion website.
